SUMMARY:🎸 6th Annual Reading PorchFest
DESCRIPTION:The Reading PorchFest Committee announces that this year’s edition of the popular music festival is set for Saturday\, June 22nd. As always\, the event runs from noon to 6 pm. \nIt features music of all genres on porches\, driveways\, and yards throughout the town\, and it’s completely free. Organizers\, musicians\, and hosts are all volunteers. \nTo participate as a musician\, a host\, or maybe both\, check out ReadingPorchfest.com for all the information needed to get involved\, as well as online registration forms. \nThose hoping to be spectators that day will find a comprehensive schedule and a map at the site as the date of the festival nears. Also appearing as the schedule shapes up will be a gallery of artists and music samples. To take in all the talent\, one needs just to walk or ride from venue to venue to hear many types of music. \nCosts for the event are partially paid for by the Reading Cultural Council. \nReading PorchFest began as part of the town’s 375th anniversary celebration in 2019\, and has continued as an annual event\, set each year on the fourth Saturday of June. It has grown with each edition\, and early signs point to this being the biggest year yet. \nAgain\, that’s Saturday\, June 22nd. Put it on your calendar right now\, before you forget.

SUMMARY:🎶 Reading Community Singers ~ First Rehearsal ~ New Singers Welcome!
DESCRIPTION:Mark your Calendar! Reading Community Singers is starting rehearsals for their 2024 Spring Concert ~ “Melodies of Memory”\, on Tuesday\, January 30th\, from 7:30 to 9:30 at Old South United Methodist Church\, 6 Salem St.\, Reading MA. New Singers may attend up to 3 rehearsals to “try RCS out”\, before registering. Please arrive early for check-in. \nFounded in 1919\, Reading Community Singers is a non-audition chorus and New Members are always welcome of every voice and experience level\, ages 16 to whatever! And as with most choruses – RCS is always looking for “just a few more good men”! They only ask that singers can match pitch and carry a tune – both of which are much easier to do working together in a chorus. Commitment to attending rehearsals is also a must. \n“Melodies of Memory” will include “Jungle Book Medley”\, “Danny Boy”\, “Music Vibrates in the Memory” and “3 Madrigals”. Elijah Botkin is again the Artistic Director for the Spring Concert. He first directed RCS for “A Jubilant Song” in Spring of 2023. Joe Beninati will again be the Rehearsal and Concert Accompanist. This is Beninati’s 20th season working with RCS. \nRehearsals continue every Tuesday\, through May 7\, with a Dress rehearsal on Friday\, May 10\, and the Concert on Saturday\, May 11 at 7:30 pm Reading Memorial High School. \nOnline registration is open\, or you can register in person at the first three rehearsals. For more information about this Concert\, or RCS in general\, please go to ReadingCommunitySingers.org\, or send an email to info@ReadingCommunitySingers.org.
